Sarah is getting her call this week! I am so excited!!

Dear Family,

I hope you have a fantastic week with Sarah getting her mission call! I am so excited and can't wait to hear where she is going to get called. The call has been issued and now the time is at hand for Sarah to also go out and serve a mission for the Lord. I know that wherever Sarah gets called its where she needs to go.  Guesses on where she is going... Asia (Japan), Europe (Ireland or the Baltic Mission), Africa (South Africa), N. America (Oregon or Virginia), S. America (Honduras or Brasil or Chile!!!)

Con Hermana Asencios
The weather down here in dear Argentina was cooler this week. We worked so hard this week! We found tons of people to teach, tons of young couples who are ready to hear the gospel. I know that this transfer is going to be a transfer of Miracles!!

Besides teaching a lot, we had a great youth activity that turned out just fantastic!  Not many youth came, but we had a great time playing a game and talking about the New Youth Theme for this year. If you don't know what it is, look it up: Moroni 10:32.

Spiritual thought of the week:

KEEP DOING THE FHE!! and like Pablo said, also study Preach my Gospel. It truly was writing in the heavens for our time.  I love Preach my Gospel!! Also, do personal scripture study each day, it makes the day that much more better.

Omni 1:26 says, "And now, my beloved brethren, I would that you should come unto Christ, who is the Holy one of Israel and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption.  Yea, come unto him and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him and continue in fasting and praying and endure to the end; and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved."

As we come unto Christ and purify our hearts we will be instruments in fulfilling the mighty promises of the Book of Mormon in the lives of others as well as in ours.

I love you all. Have a great week!!  (Dile Hola a Martín de mi parte)

Te quiero!!

20 de enero!! happy birthday Sarah!!!

Dear Family,

Well, I don't have that much time to write. I decided today to write you all letters instead of a letter for all of you!! I hope you are okay with the change. :)

With Hermana Asencios
Well, its great to be here another transfer in Villa Mitre 1.  My companion, Hermana Asencios is a fantastic missionary. I know that we are going to see tons of miracles this transfer.  Each day we find new people to teach.  Right now we are teaching:

-Jorge (A bolivian man). He came to church twice now and is reading the Book of Mormon. He was a member reference.
-Alejandra y Martín. Cutest young couple ever! Alejandra is 8 months pregnant and is due any day now! After meeting with them one time they invited us over for lunch! It was great! Martín has known the Church since he was little since his grandparents are members.
-Roxie. Girlfriend of a recent convert. She is from la República Dominicana
-Celeste. An 18 year old girl who took all the discussions when she was 14. We found her and she said we can start teaching her again!!

We had a great week! Its really hot here. The sun is shining down here in Argentina!! Don't worry, I wear tons of sunscreen and drink lots and lots of water. People may not accept the gospel when we knock on their door, but they always are willing to fill up our water bottles!!!

I love you all!!

Keep reading the Scriptures as a family! Keep the FHE going (it will bring lots of peace in the home and the kids will learn a lot about the gospel)!! Keep writing in your journals!!!

Mosiah 4:9-10  I really like this scripture because I know that when we believe in our Heavenly Father and trust him with a sincere heart, he will help us understand the WHY in our lives.

"...y ahora bien, si creeis todas estas cosas, mirad que las hagais." As we believe and act, we will start to see the miracles in our lives and the hand that he plays in helping us be truly happy.

LOVE YOU!!!

Transfer 5!! can you believe it!!

Dear Familia,

Hermana Pinnock and I with Elder Parkes and Elder Nash
Well, I am staying here in Villa Mitre another Transfer! This will be 4 transfers here, which means I will be here for 6 months of my mission!! a third of my mission! Its going to be great. We are going to see lots of miracles happen this transfer.  Hermana Pinnock was sent to another area here in Bahia Blanca. She is opening up an area for Sisters! She is going to do a great job!  My new companions name is Hermana Asencio!!!!  She is from Lima, Peru and is a convert of 4 years! (the only member of her family) She is really cute and nice.  I know that is going to be a great transfer.

Its been kinda slow this week.  We have been teaching a lot and have been finding a lot of less active members.  However, we aren't finding that many new people to teach.  Each week though we are getting more references from members and involving them!! Little by little I am learning. :) We did find one family though. We have been going through the less-active members and passing by to meet them.  This last week we passed by one and instead of finding the less active family we found a young couple.  They let us in and we soon found out that the husband used to have the elders over for lunch at his house when he was little.  His grandma was a member but he isn't.  After teaching them a bit, they invited us over for lunch on Thursday.   The gospel is going to bless them so much!!

I know that I have been a little down lately because for 3 transfers we haven't seen any fruits of our labors and it seems like no one is interested in making "compromisos".  However, I know that what ever happens I did my best and planted a TON of seeds.  This transfer is going to great! We are going to see lots of miracles!!  We have a lot of investigators who have tons of potential!! I know that Hermana Asencio is here in Villa Mitre 1 for a reason!!

I am so glad you all got your letters! I asked Elder Bird to give the package to Katie since they are in the same ward (stake?).  Looks like he did!  I hope you all like the letters and the pictures and the movies I sent you!  It was fun putting the little envelope together for you!

Thought of the week:
1 Nephi 8:15 There are tons of fruit that taste good. We have tons of things that make us happy. However its important that we always remember that there are good, better and best.  And out of all the things that we have, the best and most delicious fruit is the gospel of Jesus Christ.   "...y participaran de aquel fruto que era preferible a todos los demas."

I love you all so very much!!!

Have a fantastic week!!!

Les quiero!!!!

2014 here I come!!

Dear Family!!!

WELCOME TO 2014!!!! Can you believe that we are now here!!! 2014!!

Well, I don't have much time to write so I am going to just tell you a couple of things:

1. We didn't find that many people to teach this week, but we had a blast!!! We went on 2 splits with other sisters and got tons of references from members.

2. This week wasn't that different from other weeks, but for some reason we had tons of energy and the work was way fun!!  I think what makes the difference is having a smile and really have a love for the people! We had a fun week! The ways went by really fast!! I can't believe its already Monday again!! (sorry for the exclamation points)

3. Acts 26:28. "Then Agrippa said unto Paul: almost thou persuadest me to be a christian." (Do you remember reading this with Daniel Rona in Ceasarea?)  Even after Paul bore his testimony, Agrippa had the choice to accept it.  Even after all we do, its up to the people to change and accept the gospel. They need to make the choice. And I need to give them the chance to make that choice.  Even if people don't accept the gospel, all we need to do is stand up for what we believe, share our testimony and be like Paul.  He was a great missionary.

4. I am so sorry that you guys are all sick!  What a great way to start the year off... sick and in bed. I hope you are all doing better now.  Papi, you probably should take your brothers advice, I think it is very wise wisdom.  haha

4.3 Papi!! I will pray for you!!

5. Sarah, GOOD LUCK!! I can't wait to hear where you are going! It is an exciting time when your mission papers are almost done and you wait anxiously for the call.  Your life is going to change so much in the next 3 weeks!!

6. Tell everyone in the ward that I am doing great!! Next week can you email me all the addresses of all the missionaries in our ward? I want to write to them! Also, can you email me a picture of my plaque by the bishops office? You don't have to send it to me, just email it to me. Also, a picture of the whole case so I can see everyone's plaques together!!

7. How is Elder Wilkes doing?

8. News in the world?? What is going on? I don't hear anything down here.... nothing.. zip... zero...

9. Nope, haven't gotten the boxes yet.

9.7 Daniel, have fun skiing!!!

9.9 Sarah, good luck with this next semester

10. One more week until transfer!!! What is going to happen??? I really have enjoyed my time here with Hermana Pinnock! She is a fantastic missionary.

11. Congrats on the FHE!!!

I love you all!! Have a great week!!!
