History
Founded in 1828 by Colonel Ramon Estomba to protect the people from the Brazilian navy. The rapid economic growth brought many immigrants from Spain and Italy who were attracted to the natural resources of the area.  
It is an important shipping and commercial center exporting grain and wool, oil and fruit.
Religions of Bahia Blanca
Most are Roman Catholic although there are some Protestants and Jews.
Climate
Bahia Blanca is a humid subtropical climate: Hot humid summers (September-Feb) and Cold Humid winters (May-August).
